My wife Anne and I visited South Africa early in 2018, and witnessed the extreme poverty and dangerous conditions in the Cape Flats townships. We returned home thinking and praying about how we might help the children and families there.
Four gangs occupy the township. It’s territory war. And the territory is small. It’s street on street, corner on corner. People can not be blind to Lavender Hill. It’s about shining a huge spotlight on the beauty amongst the conflict.
Living in poverty is tough, indescribable and difficult to escape. Even more so if your baby is born prematurely and needs special care. This is little Magdelene’s story and the challenges her parents face bringing her up in Lavender Hill.
